Never forget the Lord

About 21 days ago I started to read the Old Testament and I just got into Judges and I read a story that I really like a lot. Its about how the Children of Israel were in bondage to the Midanites, then here comes Gideon. What happens with Gideon is and Angle comes to him and tells him that he needs to deliver Israel out of the hands of the Midanites, so he overthrows the alter of Baal and does some other things and gets an army together and this army at first is big about 32,000 people, but in Judges 7:3 it says;

3Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand.

Now the army is down to 10,000 but the army is still to big so the Lord tells Gideon to take the people down to the water and tell them to drink and if they put their face in the water tell them to go home, but if they drink it out of their hand they can stay. So thats what he does and 300 people drink like the Lord wants them to and that army of 300 gets all the children of Israel out of bondage. They saw a great miracle 300 people took out an army because they did what the Lord said and they had an amazing person leading them, and they were very blessed, but if we read in Judges 8:33 it says;

33And it came to pass, as soon as Gideon was dead, that the children of Israel turned again, and went a whoring after Baalim, and made Baal-berith their god.

Even though they saw a great miracle they fell away very fast. Once their leader goes away they fall away. How much is that the case in our lives? Once we move out of mom and dad's home we stop going to church we forget how great the Lord has been to us? I say lets be better than the children of Israel and lets remember the Lord all our lives.
